Units of amperometric and coulometric modes

Hi all,

I have some methods using ECD detector in amperometric mode and the signal considered is in the scale of nC. I thought in amperometry, the unit is in nA and in coulometry it is in nC. Am I wrong at some points ?

Thanks

Dear thohry

You are right amperometry usually meaures current (I) and coulometry measures charge (Q). But especially in Pulsed Amperometric Detection charge is quite often charge or integrated (over time) current is measured.
