Hi everybody,

I am using a Perkin Elmer Clarus 500 GC/MS which is connected to a Headspace Autosampler of a different brand. I have to admit, the connetion to the inlet is a bit adventurous but there are no leaks I could find. The carrier gas flows through the HS, therefore the sample inlet is the carrier gas line itself.

Everything worked fine when I used a 15m VF1 column flow 1ml/min, 20ml/min split. But as I switched to a 60m VRX, the flow drops each time I activate the split. Only if I use split volumes of 300ml/min the instrument can keep the flow on 1ml/min, but if I drop the split flow, the column flow will also drop to 0.2ml/min (basically nothing).

I have leak checked pretty much all connections. Has anybody got an idea what the problem could be?

Thanks!
