I work for a lab out of Utah and we just barely got some brand new 1100 HPLC systems in. I have networked them together to one computer and all are updated to the latest firmware. all were initializing for a little while until one of the als decided it didn't want to go through the initialization process anymore. I was testing all the motor movements and metering device on the system using chemstation and the diagnosis tests that you may perform on it to make sure all is working. So i opened her up and pulled out the transport system and the front samling unit from the main board and was trying to understand why the metering unit wasn't pulling back or the sensor wasn't engaging correctly. I found no problem put the system back together and it stoped initializing saying in chemstation that the only problem is that the door is open. i know there is a little magnetic sensor on the front that senses this so i ordered a new cable to the SUD board on the front. I also ordered a new SUD Board. I exchanged the cable and board. and still have the same problem in the initialization when i turn the als on it powers up and then the only thing that happens is the needle goes up and stops and then nothing else happens. again chemstation just says "initializing, Door open". i then tried to flip the binary switches in the back putting the system into force boot mode. nothing happens when the unit is powered on again other than the needle rises and then stops at the top. the only thing i can think of at this point is to reflash the asl device to an older firmware and hope that it fixes the problem.. WHAT CAN I DO???? any suggestions?

Did you test forced cold start? config 1,2,8 up other down
I have similar problem and could not solve this problem. My autosampler after downgrading don't initialize correctly but in forced cold initialized and i think mainboards are Ok.

Hi,
By the sounds of things you have covered nearly all your options. Have you placed a magnet in place of the door? You've replaced the cable but I'm assuming you have. could be the PCB is faulty then. The forced cold start you have completed. When the ALS powers up it should int. If the door closure switch isn't made then it won't int. So verify that and then the next step would be the PCB...If you've replaced the main PCB and not the interface which is in the front of the ALS the replace that. Hope this helps but you seem to have everything covered.
