Small organic acids on Hypercarb

Hi, i found that citric acid could be determinate on hypercarb column. Does anyone have experience of analysis small organic acids on this column?
Or is Hilic column better choice?

For citric acid many applications are available, on different column brands. All depends on the matrix effects you might see on different brands, different chemistries. And at the end of the day price is also important.
The column you use is an excellent column. I'm sure many other chemistries, for example HILIC, will give you also excellent results. Just screen the application databases of some column manufacturers.

"Ion exclusion" is often used for organic acid separations. Nice simple technique - isocratic elution, low flow rates, straightforward detection. Sorbents are usually relatively soft sulfonated polymers so it is usually necessary to run at elevated temperature. Plenty of vendors sell this type of column and they usually provide a list of retention times for different organic acids, so it should be fairly easy to choose the column most suited to the separation you are trying to achieve.

We formerly used ion exclusion columns for citric acid and citrate. About 6 years ago we started using specialty columns called "organic acid columns", better.
