0.53 precolumn on a DB-5 0.32 column

I am doing a determination of waxes in oils with 10 meters of DB-5 0.32 column with an on column injector.

I was wondering if adding a 0.53 deactivated fused silica precolumn (to facilitate the use of larger diameter syringers for the on column injection) in front of the column could interfere with the analysis or the way the sample goes into the column.

Could you think of anything against doing this analytically-wise?
very commonly done procedure.

You must be careful when connecting the precolumn to the column.

No exposed edges, etc.

A deactivated union with ferrules, butting up the columns to a small deactivated void would ensure an enduring seal during thermal stresses.

But I would do it in a heartbeat.
