Agilent 1260- Chemstation last version: print chromatograms

Hello,

I am totally new in chromatography :D and I just started working with Agilent 1260 HPLC, that has the last version of chemstation, I think is B.04.

When I analyze data, I open each chromatogram, check if I have to do manual integration, and then when I am done I go one by one, printing one at a time. Is there any way to print all chromatograms at the same time, after I am done with the integration?

(I know there is an option to let the instrument print after the run, but I prefer not to use it since I might have to manually integrate some peaks)

Thanks!

Manual integration tends to suggest that you have not set the integration parameters correctly beforehand. Ideally you should be able to set the correct parameters in your method so that manual integration is rarely, if ever, required. You should then be able to print the chromatograms after each run without problem.
What kind of adjustments are you making during the manual integration ?

hello Coffo,

I was using frequent manual integration when I started, but after changing the column guard cartridge I seldom use it (maybe one time in a run). I changed it when I started to see peak shoulders. I had just one day and a half of training on this, so it has been a little complicated.

I was told to not change the method as well (I just set the sequence parameters when creating a new sequence).

I was wondering if, after looking at all chromatograms, I could print all of them at once. Is that possible?

Also, is it possible to import an excel file with a sequence template? Right now I am typing twice (when creating my results excel sheet with sample id numbers etc, and when I create a sequence I type again the same info)

Thanks for the reply :)

You can go to "Sequence" > "Import Sequence Template..." and then press F1 to bring up the help file. That tells you more about importing data into a sequence.
As long as you can export your Excel data into the right format (e.g. "File" > "Save As" then "Save as type CSV") you should be able to import it into the sequence correctly.

When you perform data analysis in ChemStation, you should be able to use "Specify Report Calculation and Print Style" to direct the reports to the printer automatically. If you reprocess your sequence the reports should be automatically printed. (You might have to go back and manually integrate and re-print any that need it ?).

Coffo, I have the "print" box checked in "specify report...". But still, I am not getting the automatic printing. Could this be because when I leave the lab, I locked the computer *ctrl+alt+del"?

thanks :)

Locking the computer shouldn't prevent printing occurring in the background.
The only thing I can think of is to go into "Sequence" > "Sequence Parameters" then click on the "Sequence Output" tab and check "As specified here" and "Printer" in the "Individual Reports for each Run" section?
Good luck ...
