Empower 2: Searching for Sample Names?

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and am hoping I can find some help. What I am looking to do is to be able to search (via filters or another method) for a sample name in Empower 2. Our company has a specific tag for sample names ie xyz002 where x is for the month, yz is the suffix for the specific sample type, and 002 is the lot of the sample. What I have tried is inputing =# in the sample name field which asks you to input a sample name. This only works if you input the exact sample name and lot of the sample but what I would like to do is search for the xyz part minus the lot part. So, in short, I would like to pull up all the samples with the xyz tag regardless of the lot.

My thought is that you could do some sort of string search or wildcard but I do not know how or if it is possible.

Thank you so much.

Check the help files, use View Filter as search term.

I want to thank both of you for the helpful advice. Using =xyz* in the view filter works perfect. I swear I searched for wildcards in the empower help but anyways problem solved!
