Hello, I was wondering if there are any commercial companies that rebuild the UV lamps for the Agilent 1100 series Diode Array Detectors? We have a lot of these detectors here in my company, and I'd like to know if there is a rebuild option that might be cheaper than a $500 replacement bulb.

Thanks!
I would seriously doubt it. The lamps are manufactured as an aligned unit in the housing.

I would imagine the bulk of the cost of manufacture to be associated with the lamp itself.

Dismantling the unit, replacing the lamp and re-aligning would probably be more expensive than buying a new one.

I for one remember having to align the lamp on my old shimadzu UV 6A which had to be done with the lamp on (burnign fingers in the process). Prealigned lamps are a godsend.
Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
