Hi..

Is switching off the HPLC instruments is advisible in end off the day. Normally we keep the lamp switch off through software and remaining is in on mode. Insturments are connected through Empower software.

Thanks in advance.
There is no fixed rule as to whether to switch the HPLC off at the end of the day. If I am going to use my instrument the next day, I leave it turned on but turn off the UV lamp. The only reason to turn off the instrument is if you need to restart to clear an error or lockup. I turn the instrument off over the weekend. Other users my have a different practice.
If the system/s in question, were privetly/personally owned and if the consumed electric power was charged to a privet person (not too often but just for the sake of the argument) I believe they’ll be switched off somewhat more frequently (perhaps on a daily basis)

If you're using buffers in the mobile phase then you either need to flush the system out before turning it off, or leave it on low flow or recycle. Unless you really need to save on your electricity bill, most people leave them switched on when not in use so the column oven etc. is all equilibrated and ready to go.
Where can I buy the kit they use in CSI?
we set up global shutdown at the end of the sequence if we running it after hours, in most cases this is done to preserve lifetime of the UV lamp.

My opinions might be bias, but I have about 1000 examples to support them. Check our website for new science and applications

Small or big lab, I have always re-booted HPLC instruments weekly.
