Argon as carrier gas for GC with FID

Hello,
I am trying to use argon as carrier gas for GC with FID. Is it possible? What will be different comparing to using helium? Is there some samples of parameters setting?
Thank you very much!

You need a slower flow to get maximum resolution. Peaks will be wider which might make them more difficult to detect. There is another recent thread on exactly this subject - try a search.

Consider using hydrogen as carrier (from a hydrogen generator, not a cylinder) and nitrogen as make-up gas.
