I am currently working on setting up Agilent Openlab software to use to replace Galaxie CDS. While Galaxie was fine for what we needed, we could not get the drivers for our new GC and 7693 autosampler. Long story short, Is anyone having trouble remembering what sequence they ran thier samples in?
I work in a QC lab which runs anywhere from 2 to 50 or so runs a day on a single GC in a single sequence (usually named with the date). In Galaxie, to find a sample run, all I had to do was go to Open chromatograph, pick the directory and select it. This was great. However, with this new sequence container (result set) we are required to first search for the .d files in windows and then find the sequence in which the sample was run. I have tried using openlab with sequence container turned on and turned off. Both still require searching in windows to find the sequence containing the sample.
I also investigated writing a macro to create the directory to my liking but am unsure what files to copy to the new directory in openlab. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
We, too, have been blessed with Open Lab and Chemstation Revision C, since May. It's been a challenge.

OK, for sequences, here's what we do:
Sequence for Oct. 17, 2012 and Method ABC.M might be
ABC-101712A.S for first sequence of the day and ABC-101712B.S for first sequence of the day, etc. we all name our sequences the same way. So when in Data Analysis, click on that data set, then you can look at individual injections.

For single injections, like for method investigations, once in Data Analysis, click on the Single Runs. These could also be named with the method used and the date in the name.
Thanks KM-USA. I currently have chemstation set up as you have suggested below but the problem is finding Sample x. We have no way of knowing when the sample was run in order to lookup the correct sequence. In Data Analysis, the explorer only shows sequences not the result files which is what am looking for. In Galaxie, I just gave my samples an itemcode and lotnumber and each sample was saved as such. (no need for the sequence name at all) I currently gave up a finally called Agilent. I am waiting for an answer. Hopefully they can provide me with some sort of workaround.
Are you required to use sequence containers? They can be disabled by clicking View/Preferences and clicking on the second tab. You can also modify how the sequence container naming convention applies in this same screen.

Hope that helps!
