Hi all,

We are just beginning to analyze sulfur compounds by SCD detector.
At first, we analyze standard mix and the results were OK. The mix consists of 15 sulfur compounds and we got 15 peaks. But after about one month, some light peaks are missing: H2S, OCS, methyl mercaptan.. while other peaks are OK. I am not sure if those missing compounds could react among themselves so that we can not see any, even at trace level.

Anyone could help me in this project ?

I see you are getting an education in Sulfur chemistry !

Yes, these are quite reactive chemicals and will react with themselves and with other sulfur compounds. They are also very reactive with the containers and regulators that regulate their flow.

The possible permutations are so numerous.

You might wish to purchase standards in smaller sizes and replace them often.

Thank you very much. I am just surprised that after only 20 days and the peaks disappeared and the standard cylinder was purchased 6 months ago.
