Can any one please help me developing HPLC method for diheptyl succinate?

This compound is insoluble in water. i am working on a project which require it to quantify the compound in water. therefore i will have to find a method to dissolve this compound in water. could any one sugest me what can be done in this case?

All kind of replies are appreciated.
If it's insoluble in water, quantitation is easy: ZERO!
Just joking... :D
First get to know which concentration of the analyte you're going to deal with.
My first step would be to make a solution of the analyte in a solvent in which it's well soluble and that's miscible with water (methanol for example?) and dilute it to the needed concentration with water. If you're lucky, it won't precipitate.
You may compare peak areas of the diluted solution and a purely methanolic solution to be sure nothing precipitated. Peak shapes of your analyte in methanolic solution and (mainly) aqueous solution might differ though depending on your method
Many thanks for you reply mate. However i am not lucky. compound is precipitating as soon as i add water in solvent. :(
there is no way to dissolve this in water. You can try THF/water, or EtOH/water. The best way is to develop a procedure with liquid-liquid extraction followed by GC.

My opinions might be bias, but I have about 1000 examples to support them. Check our website for new science and applications
