Varian 3400 GC with 8200 Autosampler: fault 535

Hello,
I just started up a Varian 3400 GC which has not been used in about 5 months. The 8200 autosampler had been working earlier in the year but when I tried to do an injection this morning, the vial tray slid forward smoothly but maked a grinding/stuttering noise when trying to move back out. It eventually stops and gives a "131- Motor timeout" error. I ran the GC diagnostics and it came back with "535". There is nothing in the manual that covers that particular error and my searching has not turned anything up. Does anyone know what that error means and what I might do with the autosampler to make the tray run smoothly? It seems to rotate and slide forwards well, but has a problem with sliding backwards to the starting position.
Thanks!
EDIT:
I found an autosampler-specific manual that lists the 535 code as "Translate Position Sensor Bad", in case anyone ever needs to know.
