Hi
In the residual solvent analysis of Ketocanozole by liquid injection it was observed that their is no elution of residual ketocanozole peak, later by literature it was observed that ketocanozole has a boiling point of 750 deg at 760 mm hg
can any one suggest how to proceeded further in such case .
Thanks and regards
Anand

What kind of analysis technique you are using? Is it flow injection, HPLC or something else?

Yes this is very confusing.
Sure in some cases you can do liquid GC injections on drug substances to determine residual solvents, the drug may either elute on column or be trapped in liner without causing degradation and inter fering peaks or disrupt chromatographic performance on following injections, but typically you would do a headspace injection for residual solvents.
So in most case I would expect that you would find no peak of the drug substance.

I would have a wax precolumn installed ahead of my primary column. this I would replace routinely.
Also replacement of the injection liner routinely would be a good idea.
You might also use a packed injection liner instead of a regular one.
Keeping the injector at a temperature as low as feasible would be a good idea.
best wishes,
