Micra Scientific Non Porous HPLC particles

Discussions about HPLC, CE, TLC, SFC, and other "liquid phase" separation techniques.

There used to be a company called Micra Scientific that made non-porous particles for HPLC. It seems that they merged with a company called Eichrom some years back but the Google trace of them vanished around 2003. Does anyone know what happened to this company, or could suggest another supplier of non-porous HPLC particles?

Thanks
Victor,

I don't know what happened to Micra, but I used to work with two Kovasil C18 and C14 columns. They were manufactured by Chemie Uetikon in Switzerland. US distributor was (I am not completely sure about this) Phenomenex. The particle diameter was 1.5µm. Both packings were non-porous.
Transgenomic Inc. in San Jose manufactures columns packed with 2.5µm non-porous poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) but I think they are only available in combnation with their Wave system.

cheers

Robert,

Thank you very much for your reply. I will try your suggestion, although I am sure these Micra Scientific particles are still available from some supplier.
Victor,

The product line has gone through so many hands it's unbelievable! The new supplier of the Micra nonporous silica is Eprogen. You can find more information about the range of currently available nonporous products at: http://www.eprogen.com/hplc/bonded/plat ... /index.cfm

Chris-thank you for this information, and also for all your erudite and unbiased posts on this website which are helpful to a lot of people.
