Merlin microseals

Hello all,

We've just received the Merlin microseals and adaptor for a Shimadzu 2010+ GCMS and have a question about their installation/conditioning.

I seem to recall somewhere reading that they should be conditioned (200 degrees C for 24 hours) before installation but for the life of me cannot find this anywhere in the documentation.

Is this the case or are they fine to be installed directly as received?

Thanks in advance.

I've used them in the past on an Agilent (back then HP) system, straight out of the box. (no conditioning.)

I've never heard of conditioning Merlins either. You can call them to make sure but I've never had any problems with them out of the box.

worked with someone last week who leaves his in the oven overnight.

watch out for leaks, I saw one time where a customer's acetone peak disappeared from their matrix all together when the merlin was in use. plenty of people have success, just saying ;).
