GC-MS to GC area conversion

Im sorry if this query was already posted before. I tried searching through previous post but couldn't find anything regarding this. When i run samples in GC-MS, the area for chloroform that I obtained was 1,971,183,624. But when the samples were analyzed in GC, the area (pA*S) that i got was 341,144. Is there any way to convert the area that I obtained fr GC-MS to the area in GC or vice-versa?? What's the unit of area in GC-MS? TQVM for anyone who answers my question.
Response factors vary from detector to detector. The area for chloroform will vary in the mass spec depending on wether you sue the signal for one ion, another ion, or all ions (in the mass range acquired).

The best solution - build a calibration curve for each instrument.

There have been discussions of mass spec response relative to TIC on this site.
hey... thanx so much for the reply. Im doing the same thing as u suggested now. separate calibration curve for GC and GC-MS...
