Apparently The Agilent VF-WAXms colum Part no. CP9205 actually has a 0.425mm OD, the manufacturer used some other silica or extrusion process that altered the OD but not the ID....so if anyone reads this, the corect part numbers for the ferrules are 8004-0212 (interface) and 5080-8853 (inlet).

I am trying to re-install my GC-MS from a stint in storage. I am trying to install an Agilent VF-WAXms 30m x 0.25mm x 0.25um column with what Agilent assures me are the proper 0.4 mm ferrules (inlet = 5181-3323 and interface = 5062-3508). However the holes on both inlet and interface ferrules are so miniscule I cannot successfully slide them onto the column. Trying to force them just results in the column breaking off in the ferrule. Has anyone ever experienced a problem like this?? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
