I am trying to automate our method using empower 2. I created custom fields for the mass of sample weighed into vial, the final wt of vial after dissolving in water, and the specification (mg/g) of the sample. Using those, I created another custom field that calculates the samples supposed ppm based on the specification given by the manufacturer. I would like to take the sample ppm, and the actual ppm of the sample based on the chromatogram to get a %of spec value.

Mainly I am struggling with the "New custom field wizard" in empower, specifically result field type; and how to pull up the ammount calculated of the peak of interest. In the "new custom field wizard" under formula entry, I have been trying Field=Component 1 Ammount/SamplePPM. The SamplePPM is the custom field I created which should calculate the ppm based on samples spec, mass weighed, and mass diuent.

Create a new "Real (0.0)" "Peak" custom field and then put in your calculations.
Use the amount to calibrate and calculate.

Ace
