Hallo,
For the analysis of unknown controlled substances (drugs) which are cut with cutting agents we at M.M.C. international are looking for a GC/MS solution. The results of the GC/MS should be qualitive and quantative and the GC/MS should have a little down time. The time between insertion of the sample and results also should not be to long. Can someone help me make the choice which GC/MS is suitable for this type of analysis?

Thanks
Regards
Benji
There are a number of fine instruments in the market place. However performance is often a function of local service organizations. Call vendors who cover your area and talk with them about your needs. Ask for local references. If there are none close by, be ware, there is not likely to be service close by either.

There have been a number of other discussions with people looking for advice on purchasing an instrument. Please look through the other discussions on this site.

Note that thre are other suggestions, such as sending samples to vendors so you can see how the instrumentation works on your samples - and so you can see if the software works reasonably for you -- on your data.

Vendors: If you do not have a list of vendors in your area, look at the site for a major instrument show in your part of the world and look to see who exhibits. In the US, PittCon.org is good.
