Front inlet purging?

Trying to get a run off for a thermally-labile flame retardant using a low injector temp and a short column. The GC refuses to start the run saying 'front inlet purging'. It will sit there forever saying 'not ready'. Run will work fine if the injector temperature is up around 325C, but at low temp it just keeeeeeeeps on purging.

Agilent 6890N
15m x 0.25mm x 0.1um DB-5HT
Split/splitless injector @ 150C

Any ideas?

How hot is the GC oven? (Is it hot enough to keep the inlet from being stable at 150C?)

Septa leak more at low temperatures - try putting a new one in.

I think you need to either push the run prep button prior to injection or using the control pannel you can configure the inlet to do an auto prep run.
