Do any 15mm by 150mm HPLC columns exist?

Does anyone know of any columns this size or around this size that are still being sold at the moment? If so please direct me to where I might find one. I can only seem to find 10mm dia or 19mm dia, nothing in between. If nothing exists why is there nothing in this size range?

Thanks,
Mike
I found this on the Phenomenex website, it's just an example.

I'm sure other manufacturers can offer the same ID hardware, maybe on special request.
Good luck

I just checked that out. Not a lot of options for it but so far thats the only one I have seen so I will contact them and see what they can do. Thanks for your reply it was very helpful.

In fact, Phenomenex is the only company I know that has this specific ID.

Yes it appears that way. They do not have the 15 x 150 but they do have the 250mm. Working with them right now to see if we can get what I need packed in it.

Thanks,
Mike
Speaking as a column manufacturer:

The limiting factor here is the availability of the tubing. Sizes like 250x4.6-mm are readily available off the shelf from tubing manufacturers. Sizes like 15 mm i.d. are not. A column manufacturer would have to arrange a dedicated production run and would have to agree to buy the entire run. Cost per tube would be considerably higher than is the case with one of the more common sizes. If it's an unusual size like 150x15 mm, then they might expect to get only a handful of orders per year for columns that size. This hardly makes it worthwhile putting such sizes into stock. Now, with an existing tube that's 250x15 mm, cutting one of them down to size is more easily done provided you're ready to pay Phenomenex for the machining involved.

A column manufacturer would frequently be more willing to pack an odd size of column if you provide the tube yourself...

This is understandable. They did say they could probably make the 150mm but I would have to commit to 5 columns at once. Seeing as how that is not feasable I am going to go with the 250mm and see how it goes. I did notice the price was a little "fluffed".

Thanks,
Mike
"Fluffy"? Price should be in the range of 2K, either $ or €... in comparison to analytical columns, it's not much...

With a 15% discount its about $2300. I pack my own spring columns for prep so I may be a bit out of touch with price.

Thanks,
Mike
