TotalChrom software problems

We inherited from our sister factory a PE Autosystem GC along with a computer running Windows 2000 and the Totalchrom software. We have had it in storage for some time and have recently tried to get it working. We managed this and then wanted to attach the computer to our network. Whilst doing this our IT decided to clean up the user profiles who were no longer relevent to this machine and inadvertently deleted some profiles which began tc... which I assume were vital in the operation of the software. When we launch the software now we get a message saying that it is unable to read the configuration file and to check the Totalchrom Process Account.
We do not have the install disks for this software and were told by an engineer a while ago that they were no longer available and that we would have to upgrade to the latest version. Our version is 6.3 we think, as we cannot launch it we don't know how to check for definite.
We have tried some undelete programs but no relevent deleted files are found.
Does anyone have any advice on what we can do to get it working again please.
Thanks
Dave

I've seen a similar problem happen before. There is a setting in the TotalChrom software that is tied to one of the deleted user profiles. If you knew the names of the deleted profiles, you could try and add them back. We found out that TotalChrom also is not happy when you change the name of the computer. We don't let IT touch our computers on instruments. Does your IT department have a older tape of the computer? Assuming your IT is backing up this computer. You might be able to get access of the multiple profiles that way.
