Just wondering is it difficult doing a PM for UPLC waters? I have nearly 7-8 years experience and have replaced seals and lamps amongst many other things but i never did a full PM. Just asking cause in my new job im working on UPLC that hasnt been PM in 18 months and im having alot of Problems with the system. I was thinking of doing the PM myself but im not too sure should i.....if i do the PM and the problems are not resolved..then what!!
Prepare a checklist based on your user manual and do it. If you still have problems after that, at least you can exclude a few possible causes.
it's not really more difficult than on a "regular" LC and the PM-Kit usually has some nice "how-to" manuals attached.

But maybe you can spend the money for have it done by the service eng. this time and closley look what and how he does it, so you're able to do it yourself in the future. Like an on-site training.

When I was asked to PM the UPLC,
the only thing I was given was the PM kit and the manual downloaded from the website.
Did not get the training (although in house)
After breaking several parts, I did PM every six months for all the 3 UPLCs and MSs I owned.
