how to stop microbial activity ?

Hi

I have ana analyte react in waste water .My task is to analyse it every two hours but because i cann't perform extraction at same day how can i stop the microbial activity .

What i do is i take an aliqout that i want to extract at specific time then i added saturated sodium chloride to it the put them in the fridge and extract them next day

what if soild materials in this aliqout beside microbes present is what i took after 2 hours or four hours can be representitive

hope you get me if not i will repeat

is that correct ?

We need to know the class of analytes that you are looking for, how they are extracted and analyzed.
