I'm using probe65 software with a shimadzu GC14a; today it stopped recognising one of the FID/ECD imputs to the computer unit; one reads normal, one reads zero (after swapping the same occurs albeit vice versa), I have managed to isolate the problem to it being in the computer tower rather than the GC after swapping/exchanging cables. Could be a port problem?
I'm in a lab in Indonesia and we have limited access to technicians. We are a team that are learning GC problem by problem! Creative solutions welcome.
So, I'm looking for some advice on any basic work I can try on the computer unit. For instance could I try to remove the section of circuit the ports for the FID and ECD are housed on without disrupting the software? I have no schematic for the computer unit and am not sure whether I have a simple fuse problem (power cuts here are frequent and our lab was struck by lightning recently).
I thinks that's it, not sure if anyone can help but fingers crossed.
