Hi everyone, I have a problem with our Varian HPLC (Varian prostar PDA detectetor (model no. 330, serial no 00850) and two prepstar pumps (model no 218, serial nos 00466, 00467)). When I inject the sample the program for the pumps automatically starts but the program for the PDA doesnot respond whereas it responds when I click the baseline. Can anyone suggest me if I am doing any mistake in running the program? What I think is the software for this machine is corrupted but we dont have the CD to reinstall the software. I request in this forum to please help me find a CD to reinstall the software to run our HPLC succesfully.

What software are you running? I presume you are running through a GPIB interface?
This probably isn't much help, but I'll comment: we've a Prostar 330 interfaced with ChemStation and have not seen anything like that. However, the Polaris system we have has under the software control for the UV/vis an option that has caused us grief: if you select "hold" instead of "reset" the detector gets out of sync with the autosampler and the peak times are all shifted because of this.
