Hello, Chromatography Forum.

Let me start by saying I am new to the forum and work as the IT manager for a laboratory. I apologize if my terminology is incorrect in relation to Chromatography from time to time. Please bear with me.

I have quite a list of items that I need assistance with and have so far learned a great deal from browsing the forum. The most pressing issue as of right now is getting a particular workstation back up and running. The workstation's motherboard went out and I have since set up a new PC with Windows XP SP3. I need to reinstall Chemstation B.01.00 and configure it for use with an ISA GPIB card, 7673 controller/injector and a 5890 GC.

First of all, will this configuration work with XP?
Previous PC was running Windows 2000 with the same hardware/Chemstation setup.

Second of all, the old PC is actually only half dead. I can still boot it to Windows but it will only stay stable and usable for 15-30 minutes and then suddenly reboot.(Capacitors on motherboard are failing) Is there any way I can copy the Chemstation config from the old PC to the new one? So the technician does not have have to manually re-define her methods/settings?

First of all simply backup 3 directories where ChemStation stores Methods, Sequences and Data.

Then you probably may open ChemStation configuration editor and see configuration settings. Don't forget to have licence number when installing ChemStation.
