We are having a problem with our ABI 3200 qtrap tandem with shimadzu prominence instrument. It seems that the source heater not in good condition because there tiny white pellets that is coming out from the two heater. We suspect that the white pellets are the insulator. What should we do with our equipment. Is there anyone who experienced the same thing. Please let me know.thanks

Rachelle,

contact Applied Biosystems for replacement of the heaters. You cannot repair them in this condition.
Any deformation of the heaters should be spotted on time and replaced with new, in order to ensure proper heating and desolvation of the electrospray.

Best regards
