So I had a fuse burn out in my 5973 and the fuse holder is corroded and basically destroyed. I have contacted Agilent and am waiting for a response. Anybody have to replace one of these before? Did you have any specific problems getting a replacement?

Thanks,
Jon

If Agilent hasn't gotten back to you yet, try taking a picture of the part and sending it to the tech support guys at http://www.digikey.com. I think this company supplies some electronics components to Agilent. They may have the part. It may be a long shot but it's probably worth the effort. The tech support guys there are usually pretty good with finding the part you need if you call or email them.

Things like fuse holders are nearly always standard parts that are produced by the million. Big electronics suppliers with online ordering have searchable websites with pictures. The price will probably be less than a tenth what you will pay from Agilent.

We had this very thing happen to us recently. Agilent did not have the specific part, and they instead told us we had to get the board it's attached to replace it. More $ than you may want to spend.

We managed to get a replacement holder, but then a couple months later (one week ago), the plastic part the fuse holder screws into, well it must of been damaged from before too and it snapped. So in a round about way we may end up getting that board anyway.
