hi again.

before that, anyone here involving with the work of reversed-flow gas chromatography (inverse of gas chromatography) ???? i actually do the work based on the work of g. karaiskakis, p. agathonos, a. niotis and n.a. katsanos, j. chromatogr., 364: 79 (1986) - measurement of mass transfer coefficinets for the evaporation of liquids by reversed-flow gas chromatography. can you suggest me any forum discussed about that kind of gas chromatography since there's only few works with rfgc.

i have problem on how to condition my modified gc 14 b shimadzu gas chromatograph (applying reversed flow with with six-port valve) since it is different from the normal gas chromatograph. so. i cannot do column conditioning based on the given manual. how do i do conditioning then??? what is the purpose of column conditioning???? is that i have to do conditioning every time i change my liquids???

one more thing, when i run my gc there is a 'noise' peak occur on displayed chromatogram. is this because of unpure hydrogen gas in FID??? how can i reduce the noise signal???

plus, when i run my gc, the continuous concentration-time curve for the vapour of the liquids is descending rather than ascending as suggested by the previous work. is that because of the leaking at the joint inside the gas chromatograph????

any help is highly appreciated.

thank you
