NP Bead recoating

Hello fellow scientist,

I am looking for some NP detector bead coating (Part# 5080-8872, or 5020-8280). I am aware that Agilent ceased production of those in March 2010 and am currently looking for a replacement, or even any indication on what may be in those beads. I have been unsuccessful trying to obtain the recipe from Agilent. Did anyone attempt a de-formulation of the salt stick? Or does anyone know what kind of Rubidium or Cesium salts are involved?

Any help would be appreciated, including available stock and viable replacements?

Thanks

Alexander Gwosdz

PS: I have performed a search and found only a thread referencing to above mentioned part #

Hi Alexander:
Do you still using that part #? I've several collectors with de bead NPD and I wish to recoat them. I've Rubidium crystals and Aluminium Salt, but i don't know how to make the recoat.
I'll really appreciate if you can help me with that.

Any help would be appreciated.

If they are BLos beads, sorry cannot help. If they are DET beads, DET will re-furb them for a very fair price. If they are a BLOS bead you might talk to DET about replacing them with a DET bead since I believe DET beads will give you better performance (based on what I have seen.)
