After 6 years of use this LC is shutting down in the middle of the run, changing the flow rate and the run time. First strategy was to save a new method, this didn't work. Second, it was suggested a bad main board in the pump. With the guidance of tech support we reseted all the modules hoping this will correct. It didn't work. I installed a new pump module from another system to confirm that the board was the problem but still does shuts down. please help!!! The current logbook says shutdown to an error (no code)
Does it shut down every run, i.e. you cannot complete even one full run?

Do you have a handheld controller (instant pilot)? If so, disconnect the the ethernet cable, cycle the power on all HPLC system components and run your method from the controller. If it still shuts down then you have eliminated chemstation as the source of the problem.

Watch the system when it shuts down. The module having the problem will likely show a red error light before the other modules (I assume all modules show red error lights when the system shuts down?)

"changing the flow rate and the run time". Are these values changed in your method when the system shuts down?

I once noticed some problem with flow, because I didn't have regional settings set to English (US).

Try connecting it to another workstation or control module.
We had a similar problem (if not the same). After a few months, it was corrected by uninstalling/reinstalling .NET and other Windows components to specific versions (I cannot recall which now) and double-checking regional settings. We were advised not to update Windows for some time - and we never updated since then.

While this solution does not really affect our workflow, it's far from being a good one.
Thank you for all your advice. To answer your question it started shutting down after sample 1 but lately is shutting down 3/4's in run 1 so it can't finish one.
Again, thank you all for your input. Apparently the system was shutting down because I did not have enough free space in the hard drive. I had 9% and at least 20% is necessary. I had one hard drive partitioned in two (C & D drives). IT people expanded C and so far so good. I have been able to do a couple of runs. We'll see.......:)
