ALS G1329 Tray Missing Error?

The tray is in there, but it says it's not! We took it apart, and it looks like it's a light sensor. Tried blocking it off, no avail. This is a new unit to us that we got from another company.

Any ideas on where to start?

Thanks!

according to my experience if the sample tray is not kept properly in its position the error will be displayed,it must be fit exactly in its position

Are trays interchangeable between units? We've got another ALS that we've tried to use its trays on this one, but nothing. Is it possible that some of the trays have different sizes of prongs to hit the sensor?

Has anyone been able to find an exploding parts diagram for this unit? I'm starting to think something is missing around the sensor, but no luck looking online so far.
