Hello,

we have a small problem. With new instrument, it came new "old" data system OL Chemstation edition. The other systems are all connected to old chemstations (B.xx.xx). We don't use any security features, but only operators name. Is it possible in OL CDS somewhere, to manualy type the operator like in CS? Currently there is allways writen system as operator.
Uros, did you get a proper training after installation? OpenLAB CDS has an administration where you define the users, administrator operator etc etc. Then you have the access control to the application.
If you did not get training, please contact your agilent representative.

Hi Freek, I know about the control panel and some stuff in there, but as we are not in restricted enviroment, we don't want to complicate our lives with premmisions, passwords etc., so on the desktop there is only icons for HPLC online and offline. The system user is not a big problem, but if there is some way to simple switch the user like in old chemstation or add new one without opening control panel?
Hm, you have the possibility to lock/unlock an instrument. Check the security settings, there is a check box that allows anyone to unlock an instrument, that might be an opening to your 'fast' switch on a running instrument.

Thank you, I'll try this next week
You'll need to use teh control panel to set up users, as OL akes the user name from whoever is logged in. Once OL is running (Online) then you can eitehr clsoe it and repoen it, log in as new user, or you can just go to the User menu and choose Change User. You can't just type a name in a box like Chemstation though, as far as I know.
Where can I buy the kit they use in CSI?
Can you just use operators' names or initials in the Sequence name? Like \sequence\AB 060712A.S
