MSD Chemstation and Windows 7

Hi,

with my new desktop PC I'm not able to make MSD Chemstation (E revision) work. I installed the I/O-Libraries followed by the MSD-Software itself.
When I try to open a Data-File in Enhanced Data Analysis it says "Undefined Symbol: ECM LPvar". What also is amazing: the menu bar doesn't appear, just the symbols.
Is MSD CHemstation not compatible with windows 7 at all or is it my computer?
BTW: I tried it on Win7 itself as well as on a XP-VM; no difference...

Thanx for any hints.

EA 02.02 is the first version that will run on Win7. I did the installation on my Win7 computer (for processing only) last December. I don't remember all the quirks but it wasn't as easy as installations on my XP computers.
I tried a EA02.01 disk first but it would not work. If I process data files on an instrument computer, with XP/EA 02.00, the EA 02.02 on my processing computer can't read the quantitation database in the processed file.

I haven't tried data from my instrument running Win2000/DA 01.00.

Problem solved but reason unknown. After a few days of try and error my co-worker suggested to perform a system restore from a former restore point before installing chemstation. I did this and re-installted Chemstation and...
... it worked without any error.

After thinking 'bout it may be the reason was that I tried to force chemstation to install in the standard-windows-folder for programs. Since Chemstation is somehow still based on a software that only knows file- or directory names with 8 characters (and 3 chr for extention) I kept the suggested directory structure during the installing process. After that it worked as it was installed on XP :-)
