We've got it on two GCs, with Chemstation on some older ones. It's just like Chemstation but with fewer stupid things (not that many really TBH), things work that didn't used to. For me the big changes are the reporting, which is highly (though not totally) configurable (they call it Intelligent Reporting), and loading instrumnent methods doesn't cause it to have a paddy if there is some mismatch, like you've changed the column. We have standalone installations. I'm considering moving to something else (so reading stuff on here with interst) and will be looking at Chromeleon, but if you had to choose bewteen Chemstation and Openlab it'd be no contest.

Since the introduction we have sold a few thousand licenses already and a bunch of client/server systems. The OpenLAB CDS comes in 2 flavours, ChemStation and EZChrom. I had customers moving from ChemStation to OpenLAB CDS Chemstation and switching from ChemStation to OpenLAB CDS EZChrom. THe EZChrom lies close to the Chromeleon.
Big change is the Intelligent Reporting, the Control Panel and the instrument control.
You can have OpenLAB CDS ChemStation also in a distributed environment with central storage using OpenLAB ECM (SDMS) as storage location.
OpenLAB CDS EZChrom you can have also in a client/server environment as well as stand alone.

In the UK, the global Informatics team won't give support for standalone installations, they're only interested in client-server, so they push those questions back to local tech support who then play piggy in the middle until an answer comes up.

Thanks Mr. V, they should know us at BOC. We've been rather frustrated lately, maybe we should buy an ICP if we want to be noticed more!
