use a 1049A electrochemical detector as a conductivity det?

So I need to run some non-suppressed anion IC looking for SO4. My question is can I do this with my 1049A electrochemical detector attached to my 1100 system using a IC-Pak Anion HC column? Do I need to buy a new detector? I have a 35900E A/D converter so I could put another detector in but would really like to keep it cheap, which means using what I have.
Thanks for any ideas.
You can do this with ELSD detector, you can buy it really cheap on Ebay. We bought couple of them for around $800 and they worked very well for the last 6-7 years

My opinions might be bias, but I have about 1000 examples to support them. Check our website for new science and applications

I agree that an ELSD would work, but is there any chance of me using my 1049A ECD? I know that some ECD can also be used as conductivity detectors, I was just hoping the 1049A was one of them
I assume that this will not be possible with your detector.
You also should be aware of the fact that non-suppressed conductivity detection requires a very good temperature stability of the detector cell.
I would recommend to use a dedicated conductivity detector.
