Hi,

I have just installed a a column on a agilent 7890a superceding a colum that had a maxt mep much lower , (280degC) The new method runs from 340 -350 degC. The thing is the GC configuration settings wont let me change the max temp from 280 to 360. So the program just wont run. I have tried everything and have now lost the will to live.

Can anyone help with suggestions no matter how obvious as I may have overlooked it.

Thanks in advance

S

Did you change/update the column in your method? You should be able to change the max temperatures and there is an option to override the column max temp in there as well.

Yes. But it just keeps reverting back.

Where are you changing the parameter? If you are trying to change it like you would on a 6890, that is the problem. You have to use the drop down menu at the top and go to "edit GC configuration" in order for the changes to stick.

That is where I was trying. Although after repeated attempts it has now accepted it for some reason.

The GC Edit Configuration window is *viewable* from within the GC Edit Parameters menu (where you put in all your method parameters.) It is read only, to actually change it you need to do GC Edit Configuration like ^.

You can also press edit and then the oven button, adjust it, and then go to gc edit config, right click and do 'download parameters from GC'
