pyrolysis-GC/MS sytem

Hi all,

we currently bothered by persistent high BP hydrocarbons carry-over in the pyrolysis-Gc/MS system.

Normal high temperature baking did not work well. Has anybody same experience ?

Thanks

Please give us details about pyrolysis unit (CDS, Target etc.), your GC conditions, samples etc.

Is the carry over from the pyrolysis unit or in the GC?

Thanks for your concerns.

For sure we knew the carryover did not come from GC sytem.

The weird thing is that there no any carryover when we ran blank ( no real sample and other same as parameters as running samples).

we are using polyetheylene as QC and the carryover appeared from high BP range.

Thanks

A bit more detail would be helpful. You have no carry over when you run a blank but you have carry over? Please descrive the sequence of runs. What was put into the pyrolisis device and what the chromatograpich result was -- no response, expected response, carry over, etc.

If you will tell what pyrolysis device you use, perhaps someone will recognize the device and perhaps the problem.

Do you use a quartz tube with a filler for your pyrolysis?
It will be useful to know your pyrolysis system (chamber, curie point...)
But maybe your problem is now resolved...
