Is there anybody that can help me how GC merge two results of TCD channel and FID channel , until give a user one result for analalyzing natural gas?

natural gas is sold by btu content and is measured by mole content. Each component of natural gas has so much BTU per mole.
The TCD measurement and the FID measurement determines how many moles of each component are present in the sampling of the gas. When calibrated against a known gas standard the calculation sums the BTU (mole) content of each component of natural gas.

Are you trying to get a normalized report or are you trying to calculate BTU out of it all? Have you looked at something like Diablo's BTU reporter software? This takes chromatographic output and calculates BTU value from that.

hi thank you for your attention,my gc has 2 channel,on first channel the tcd measures the all component, and on second channel the fid measures all component except co2 and N2 in natural gas,I want to know how Natural gas report in Star software merge 2 results from 2 channel and give me the final result?

Review document, GPA 2172-09, of the Gas Processors Association to understand the calculations involved in natural gas measurement.
A calibrated standard is necessary to perform the calculations.

To obtain the results from the two detectors you need to calibrate with a standard to obtain response factors and then bridge the two results using the pentanes. I suggest you follow GPA 2186 (Extended liquids analysis) and GPA 2286 (Extended gas analysis).

if your Varian Star Chromatography workstation software was installed in the default subdirectory C:\Star, the Multi-Channel Report program should appear in the Windows startup group "Varian Star Workstation". If it is missing, you can create a desktop shortcut to the file QUADRPT.EXE found in the STAR subdirectory. The report will show all components for the 2 channels. Click options to choose r normalized or un-normalized.
