Hi all,

Our computer hard drive crashed for our GCs and although we were able to retrieve the HPchem files and program elements, we could not install. Can anybody tell me where I can find our original licence in these files??

Most times the installation engineers would attach the sticky with the license number to the instrument and computer cabinets, there were like 6 stickies supplied.

Or, they could've been written down somewhere. Look in the box in which the CD-installation disc came in, for a yellow envelope.

I'm not sure the license number can be retrieved from your files, but License Number can be retrieved electronically with the software when the software is operating correctly.

Call Agilent, possibly from your serial number they can look up your license number, or even provide one to use.
Hi all,

Was able to recover the licence numbers from my crashed HPCHEMstation software. If your files are still intact (even if your software doesn't work) you can retrieve the licences by going into HPCHEM\Core\ and clicking on the HPLADD01.exe file and the licences pop up. The actual directory for the Core will depend on your version of Chemstation. We are using B.01.03

When you open a file C:\HPCHEM\CORE\REGISTRY.LCT with Notepad you may retrieve license number (not encrypted) from that file.

If REGISTRY.LCT is lost, HPLADD01.EXE won't read license number, instead new REGISTRY.LCT file will be created without license numbers.
