Integration with Chemstation question

My first post so I shall try not to sound dumb.

I have been using the timed integration events to sum peak areas and produce total areas from TPH curves in carbon banded RT windows. I want to subtract the surrogate peak from the total C15-C28 band. Is there a smart was to do this?

It can be done. As I remember there is a TPH method in the software you can get hints from.

I was playing around with this problem a few months ago, and I seem to remember that if you treated the peak that you do not wish to include in the summed group as a calibrated peak, then it's area is not included in the summation group area.

If this is not the GC/LC chemstation (meaning you have Eviroquant or something similar, I am never sure which folks have), a peak type of "H" will integrate from the start to the end of the time range. Any peaks with an "I" or "S" (internal/surrogate) type will be automatically subtracted if they elute with the H peak's time range.
