6890 Not communicating

I got an error with the autosampler tower. I had moved the solvent holder around to change out the solvents. I didn't know how else to do it, but that caused an alignment error. I thought that by closing out of chemstation it would reset and all would be well. I couldn't get it to close so I did a force quit with Ctrl+Alt+Del. Now the GC just says "chemstation loading" and the computer doesn't communicate with the GC. How do I fix this? And, how do I change out the solvents without upsetting the alignment for the tower?

try this: unplug the cord from the tower and connect it again, then try to restart Chemstation

I´d power off the PC,GC, MSD and any other modules you may have. Turn them on back again, wait until all the instrument tests are finished and start Chemsation.
Hope it works

You may also need to re boot your hub ( if it's an N). As long as the sampler is idle you can move the carrosel.
When I get an error such as you did I reboot everything ( including computer) and restart chemstation after everything else is ready.

So, it turns out the automatic updates had added "NET framework 3.0" and 3.5 when the GC can only work with 2.0. I turned off automatic updates and removed those programs. I also shut off the automatic updates. All is well now. Though, I still don't know why I got that alignment error. Thanks for your help.
