Hi every body,

We are planning to purchase a GC/MS and we have two choices:
1) Agilent 7890A/5975C + 7697A Headspace Sampler.
2) Perkin Elmer Clarus 600/CLARUS SQ8S MS 120/230V + TURBOMATRIX HEADSPACE SAMPLER.

which one is better to be purchased?

What is your criteria or application that your looking for.

There are other good brands, and all depends on what you are looking for. Check out Agilent cant provide direct insertion along with the column simultanesouly. PE does not have direct insertion. PE HSS occuoies the entire inj port,you cant inject other sample.

Actually, my application will be for environmental pollution for water and soil.

Do you follow epa method? If so, check the requirement in epa method. Basically, I think both instruments will do the work. You may have to see the tech. surport for your method develop and how easy the software.

Go with Agilent, it's not even a contest. Better software and much better tech support.

Hai,

For environmental pollution of water and soil, it can be pesticides , voc application etc., We can give configuration depending on the exact application.

For example if it is VOC in water you had to go in for Purge and Trap.

If Pesticides, the best is GC MS MS and not GCMS. With GCMS you had to have OCI / PTV.

So let us know the specific application to give you a solution. Depending on the configuration we can select the brand.
