resin qualification between new and old resin

This is for large scale work in mfg. Im pulling a sample of old resin and new resin. The old resin is about 8 yrs old with about 85 runs.
Its overdue ...I just wanted to run a quick test to validate the change.
What is the protein of choice? I am looking at BSA, aprotinin or maybe lipolase to do a column test. I would like to compare an old resin and new resin to qualify the number of allowed runs/batches on them. My protocol is in development, any inside would be of great use.
