5890 Series II GC PID/FID tandem detector running Chemstation G1701BA Version B.01.00.

Yesterday our IT dept installed some new macros to chemstation and suddenly one of our instruments gives this error over and over. IT is telling me this is a hardware issue, but it seems fishy that it would all of a sudden do this just after a software addition??

The error is: a little window pops up when you open Chemstaion. At the top it says activatesicl. In the middle it says: POST_MESSAGE Failed. If you hit ok it just pops up again. The only option is to use task manager to shut down chemstaion.

Anyone ever seen this error or have any ideas of a direction to try to sort it out?

Thank for your time
Update for anyone who is interested to know:

Apparently my IT guy reconfigured the instrument and made a booboo. I opened up the instrument config and it was set to look for a GC and a 5973 MSD. After changing the configuration back to GC only, it works perfectly.
