What is the difference between isopropanol and THF as both used for GC analysis?

There may be a number of differences. And, significance of differences depends on the analysis. The first two differences that come to mind is that analytes may have differing soluabilities in the two solvents and the boling points differ by about 15 degrees. These could affect the ability of the solvent to get analytes to the inlet and the requirements for initlal starting temperature. For GC the polarity of isopropanol may lead to too much tailing of the solvent peak.
