pressure problem

I'm using an agilent 6890 GC-MS.
When I want to turn up the inlet pressure to about 80 psi it goes up very slowly until 50 and then stops.
I already changed the column, replaced the septum, liner and ferrules.
Anyone has had this problem before?

Yes, this turns up frequently on the forum (and is sitting in the archives ready for someone to search for it), usually the problem is a leak or a blocked split vent line and filter.

Could also be insufficient line pressure, if your carrier gas regulator is set to only supply 50 psi. Also if it is increasing slowly you probably either have gas saver on or a low split. Set it to split mode with a split flow of like 200 mL/min and it will increase much more quickly.

80 psi is a very high pressure for GC ( more than 5 bars ) , are you using a very long column ( over 100 meters ) ?
I think this pressure is out of control limit for EPC.

Can i ask you why you need a pressure of 80 psi?
